Vendor Events (how to slay them)


I literally live for these. Most of our job is educating on social so when I have the chance to connect in person I’m like hell yes. You’re working side by side with like minded individuals like you and everyone is supporting small biz. What more can I say? It has taken me a few times to learn how to make the most out of them and I am still learning so I wanted to share with you!

Capture info// Always have a giveaway (a basket of goods at your table) these cards for everyone to fill out, a pen for them to fill out and a jar for them to drop it into to. This way everyone who fills the giveaway info out is a new prospect. You have their info! Even if you sell nothing you walk away with at least a dozen new prospects!

Sell some product!// People are at vendor events to purchase things not to listen to a presentation. I had Christmas Spirit oil attached to a ornament at my last event (sold that for $20, could’ve prob done $25), the next one I will have more such as peppermint vitality oils and thieves cleaning packets! This will get the product right in their hand. I have found that DIY goods never sell well for me so I’m veering away from the rollers and bath salts.

Business cards// Guys you need them. Put allll of your info on there along with your QR code and hand them out to everyone. When someone purchases a product you drop it in the bag so they now have all of your contact info. Its a necessity.

Connect with the other vendors// Walk around, introduce yourself, LISTEN to their information and give them your business card (and take theirs). This way you can have their information on hand for future potential events! It’s always amazing when entrepreneurs put their heads together.

Have pamphlets on hand// This way you don’t waste time chatting their ears off about everything we have. Even if you do have the conversation, most likely they are not going to think about it ever again unless they have some sort of information in their hand for later review. I use Alexx Dima Designs for allll marketing materials, her stuff bangs.

Make it your storefront!// Decorate your table to fit your vibe! I use this tablecloth and decor for whatever season it is. I always use my portable diffuser and diffuse whichever oil I am selling so people can smell before they buy. I don’t use the YL blankets and stuff. You totally can but I think half the fun is really being creative with your set up.

Follow up work// Sit down and gather all of the business cards you collected and file them away, add them to your prospect lists, whatever you do to capture info. Getting the information of people at events is SO important. Truly. Ask a small biz that you met if they want to host an event together? Do they know of any other vendor events? Can I add you to my education group? So many opportunities you have once you have their information in your hands.

Slaying a Vendor Event

Make the most of your Vendor Events //

First off, these do not need to be salesy! Here’s what I recommend you do instead of the typical YL table cover and started kit display.

Go around your house and grab some flowers and home decor, use a black table cloth and make the space look like your home! Literally! People will feel like they are at your house listening and not at a weird demonstration where they feel pressured to buy.

◖ get it on the calendar – these are amazing and create SO many new prospects and customers
◖ if someone wants to place an order, have a sign up sheet where they enter all info handy so they don’t have to use the website right now and you can fill it out on your own time
◖ have your biz cards with QR code there and all info
◖ have a make and take where the person has to fill out a their name, email and social channel in order to make the item
◖ and/or have them fill out that same info sheet in order to win something!
◖ personally message your prospects and tell them where you will be so they can come chat
◖ have a portable diffuser going
◖ have info on the kits and curated bundles to show everyone the ways to order
◖ you can make brownies with peppermint or have seltzer and ningxia out for people to try!
◖ now follow up with all of your new contacts!

Staying Relevant (we’re all busy, sis) ◗

This is your business. Show up for it, every single day. Even when you literally can’t.

I am going to be real blunt for a minute and let you know that this is a place where I see many fall off. Imagine you see a friend of yours on social sharing about these products that have changed her and her familys life for the better.

You are intrigued but she kind of falls off and you don’t see her share about it again until the company is having a flash sale. Do you trust her? Absolutely not. It seems like she is in it for the loot right?

My point is, if you want people to trust you, you have to show up every single day. Whether if be one video/image of a product you used that day or a quick video of your kid applying their oils, show up. This is how you build trusting relationships and those trusting people will eventually purchase from you.

I am about to give birth to my second child and I know shit is going to hit the fan real quick over here so use these below tips to stay relevant when your plate is absolutely insanity.

≜ utilize our fb group content, info and images to post and promote

≜ old content is fine! repost it with a new caption to make it relevant to you today

≜ you’re overwhelmed and panicking – reach for your valor and/or cbd and document the shit out of it. make a personal post

≜ invite people on your wack journey! “alright guys i’m struggling but i’m going to share how i’m using my YL to get through this shit”

≜ lean on your team! what’re they doing? can you join in?

Let me tell you something, it is ALLL about the prep work here. If you follow the below steps you are sure to make the most out of it. Here is what I am doing.

Now this business is all YOURS and you can run it however you want but I love sharing what works for me.

Here is a checklist for you 👇👇👇

• Get on social NOW. Show your face in your stories. tell the world that YL is announcing something special and they are in for a reallllll treat. Create the hype.

• Prep your content. Get all of the details, prepare you insta stories, posts, etc.

• Send an email/text to your personally enrolled peeps the day of sale launch letting them know the details. Not everyone is as focused as we are so make sure you reach all of them in some way.

• Reach out to your non biz people to let them know they can also spread the word to people who might be interested in oils and they’ll get paid for it! What an amazing way to get them into biz, right?

• Go live the day of sale telling everyone about the new stuff. If you don’t want to go live, do a video on your stories! Best way to reach people and those outside of YL who might want to start oiling or take advantage of the sale.

• Carve out time the day of sale to do all of this. Sales are usually quick order and sell out quick so make sure at launch you are contacting and promoting and doing all of the things to make the most out of the sale. Get a sitter, go to Panera, literally whatever you have to do.

So basically since this is your own business you can run it however you like. Pretty awesome right? ⁣⁣What I like to do every so often is run kit sales as an incentive for fence sitters to finally make the purchase. If you want to run one you can do the same!

Here are some ideas .. ⁣⁣

• offer a $$ amount back and simply Venmo or PayPal them after they purchase the kit⁣⁣

• cover shipping + tax⁣⁣

• offer a sleepy roller (you can make with your own oils at no cost) with 100pv purchase

⁣⁣• an extra diffuser shipped straight from amazon to them⁣⁣

• account credits – simply hop on live chat and tell them how much you want to give them⁣⁣⁣! this way they are def buying again!

• jade roller from amazon – if you have prime then it’s literally like you hand delivered it to them⁣⁣

How to start sharing Young Living!

Post your origin story. What led you to YL?

These are my favorite YL products because … 

Show your face! Don’t just use graphics. You lose that genuine YOU touch. 

Document your journey from start to finish! Who doesn’t love to watch a transformation? 

Keep it genuine, keep it real. The 6-1 rule.

Though you will be super excited to jump into the business and start sharing, do not lose sight of you! Keep it real! For every 6 personal posts, make one of them oily. This way you don’t overwhelm or turn people off with just YL content and they get to know you. Your plants, your style, your family, your interests. That is the bread and butter of getting others to fully know and trust you, and that is when they get started with you. 

Classes 

Hosting classes is essential in this business. Educate, educate and educate some more because there is SO much to learn, I still don’t know it all and I’ve been oiling for YEARS. That is the beauty of this business, by educating, you are learning as well. I host 4+ classes a month and they are a happy mix of in person, online, on FB, on my insta story, etc. It doesn’t matter how, when or where you hold a class, all that matters is that you do it. Your business will flourish.

Thursday – promote how to get started and check in on existing downlines.

Did I mention this is your own business? L-O-L. Seriously though, you can run your own sales. Think of it as an investment to get people on board. Once they start using YL products, they are not going to stop. You can’t, they’re that good. How do you run your own sale? Offer a roller at purchase! Offer to cover tax and shipping by simply sending the money back via venmo or PayPal to the new customer. SO many ways to run a sale, get creative with it. 

Share the business side!

This is how you will grow a team of your own! Get out of your own way and share on social how this business has blessed you. It is a true blessing to everyone involved so to not share about it would be rude in my opinion.
